Auf Grundlage der Theorie Meads’ sollen nun die Hauptgedanken und Kernbegriffe des Symbolischen Interaktionismus herausgearbeitet werden.
Im ersten Abschnitt dieser wissenschaftlichen Arbeit wird kurz auf die Biografie von George Herbert Mead eingegangen, damit ein umfassendes Bild des Kontextes geschaffen werden kann. Das zweiten Kapitel befasst sich mit allgemeinen Gedanken zum Symbolischen Interaktionismus und ihren wichtigsten Vertretern. Zudem werden die wissenschaftlichen und philosophischen Einflüsse der damaligen Zeit auf Meads Theorie erläutert.
